Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld Artec Leo, capture site data, and deliver meshes, reports, and scan-to-CAD files for concrete and steel projects.

You will work on active jobsites, verify data on site, and process scans into client-ready formats, with travel to regional hubs as needed. Training and sponsorship for certifications are available, with pay $26–$40/hour depending on skill and credentials.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD and reading structural or fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable record.
• Able to travel and fly with equipment as assigned.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus.
• ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications a plus — sponsorship available.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt coordinate reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks, or hand-clean meshes.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
