Job summary

Akima Global Logistics seeks a Transportation Coordinator to plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound and outbound Army equipment during the turn-in process at a contractor site. The role ensures shipments comply with DTR, Army policies, and contract requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and accountability for government property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience acceptable.
• 3–5 years in transportation or logistics coordination; Army setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Army systems and shipping documentation standards.
• Includes ability to read/prepare Army transportation forms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt and shipment of vehicles, equipment, and repair parts.
• Develop and manage shipment schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Liaise with unit supply personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers.
• Prepare shipping/receiving documents (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 1149, BOLs).
• Enter movement data into Army logistics systems (TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS).
• Maintain shipping/receiving logs for audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R and AR 55-355/710-2/735-5.
• Verify HAZMAT packaging, marking, and labeling.
• Enforce cargo securement and safety inspections.
• Provide movement status reports to Site Manager and COR.
• Track KPIs like on-time shipments and transit delays.
• Serve as primary contact for Army units on transportation matters.
