Job summary

Akima Global Logistics seeks a Transportation Coordinator to plan and coordinate inbound and outbound movement of Army equipment during turn-in at a contractor-operated site. You will ensure shipments comply with DTR, Army policies, and contract requirements, with accurate documentation and accountability of government property.

The role involves developing shipment schedules, liaising with Army units, and processing standard transport forms while maintaining logs and reports for audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; substituted by relevant work experience.
• Experience: 3–5 years in transportation or logistics coordination; Army environment preferred.
• Army regulations and systems familiarity: AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DTR 4500.9-R; TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound/outbound movement of Army equipment during turn-in.
• Develop shipment schedules to avoid bottlenecks in mass turn-in operations.
• Liaise with unit supply, warehouse staff, and drivers for smooth cargo flow.
• Prepare shipping/receiving documents (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 1149, bills of lading, TCMDs).
• Enter movement data into Army logistics systems (TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS).
• Maintain shipping/receiving logs for audit readiness under ISO 9001:2015.
• Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R and AR variants; verify HAZMAT packaging and labeling.
• Enforce cargo securement and safety inspections; provide status reports to Site Manager.
