Job summary

Akima is seeking a highly organized Material Coordinator to oversee the movement, accountability, and documentation of Army equipment at a contractor-managed turn-in site. The role ensures proper sequencing, compliance with Army regulations, and accurate data entry into GCSS-Army and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field desired.
• 3-5 years of logistics, supply, or materiel management experience.
• Prior U.S. Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support activities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite flow of material within or between departments according to schedules and priorities.
• Review production schedules and determine material requirements and delivery sequences.
• Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
• Coordinate receipt, staging, and movement of equipment turned in by Army units.
• Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and HAZMAT items.
• Assist with transport coordination and movement planning.
