Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Transportation Coordinator at our Fort Drum site to plan, schedule, and coordinate inbound/outbound Army equipment during turn-ins, ensuring compliance with DTR and Army policies while maintaining documentation and accountability of government property.

You will lead shipment scheduling, liaise with unit supply personnel, review documents, and monitor performance metrics to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years of transportation or logistics coordination; Army contractor or military environment preferred.
• Familiarity with Army systems and transportation documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage operations for receipt, processing, and shipment of Army equipment and parts.
• Develop shipment schedules and adjust timelines to prevent bottlenecks.
• Liaise with unit supply personnel, warehouse teams, drivers, and leadership for cargo flow.
• Review and authorize shipping documents including DA 1348-1A, DD 1149, bills of lading, TCMDs, and load plans.
• Audit movement data in TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, and DPAS; ensure compliance.
• Maintain shipping/receiving logs; ensure ISO 9001:2015 audit readiness.
• Enforce compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5.
• Approve proper HAZMAT packaging, marking, and labeling prior to shipment.
• Oversee cargo securement and safety per Army, DOT, OSHA requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly movement status reports to Site Manager and COR.
• Analyze KPIs and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Serve as senior contact for transportation issues; resolve discrepancies independently.
