Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Security professional for the Austin location within Seton Medical Center Austin. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, incident response, and adherence to alarms, disaster preparedness, and safety protocols for staff and visitors.

Minimum requirements include a Texas DPS license, with potential credentials such as Law Enforcement, Security Professional, or Weapon Permit within 120 days. High School diploma or 1 year of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• Driver's License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Law Enforcement credential obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s): BLS Provider – American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
