Job summary

Ascension in Kyle, Texas is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our Security team. This full-time role includes rotating shifts and requires vigilant monitoring, incident response, and collaboration with staff to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities include reporting hazards, investigating incidents, and participating in drills. A valid Texas driver's license and credentialing within 120 days are required; we offer strong benefits and career growth within Ascension.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license to be obtained prior to hire.
• One of: Law Enforcement credential within 120 days of hire.
• Security Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
• Security Guard with Weapon Permit credential within 120 days of hire.
• BLS Provider (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor for security threats and respond promptly.
• Investigate and document security incidents.
• Follow alarms and disaster preparedness procedures; assist drills.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors.
• Operate vehicle safely if assigned.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards.
• Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Law Enforcement obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
