Ascension is seeking a Security Officer for the Seton Medical Ctr Hays facility in Kyle, TX. You will monitor for security threats, respond to incidents, and assist staff and visitors to maintain safety.

The role requires a Texas driver license and security credentials, plus a high school diploma or equivalent. This is a full-time, rotating schedule position with comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Formación

• Driver's License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Law Enforcement or Security Professional credential obtained within 4 months (120 days) of hire date/transfer date.
• Security Guard with Weapon Permit credential obtained within 4 months (120 days) of hire date/transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Responsabilidades

• Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards.
• Maintains knowledge and follows policies regarding alarms and emergency preparedness plans; may facilitate drills.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operates a vehicle safely when required and in compliance with regulations.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.

• Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Law Enforcement obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s)

• Preferred Credential(s):
• BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
