Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Security Officer to monitor for threats, respond to incidents, and uphold safety policies within a hospital setting in Austin, TX. The role focuses on incident management, drills, and assisting staff and visitors in maintaining a secure environment.

Qualified candidates will have a Texas driver’s license, related security credentials within 4 months of hire, and a high school diploma or equivalent. BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Preferred Credential(s): BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Law Enforcement obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
