Job summary

Ascension, at Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX, seeks a Regulatory role to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and run the Environment of Care program. The position covers fire, hazardous materials safety, security, and emergency management with strong emphasis on documentation and readiness.

You will identify regulatory risks, influence policy, and lead emergency coordination efforts while participating in EC/EM education and committee work. Full-time, days schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Driver's license before hire date.
• Preferred BCHCM certification by IBFSC/IBCHCM (as applicable).
• Certification as Healthcare Emergency Professional.

Responsibilities

• Maintains survey readiness by adhering to regulations from multiple agencies.
• Implements and maintains the Environment of Care (EOC) program including fire, hazmat, security, and EM.
• Identifies regulatory risks and incorporates findings into policy.
• Monitors environmental hazards and conducts root/apparent cause analysis with corrective action.
• Leads EC/EM rounding, EC/EM education, and EOC/EM committee activities.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Maintains continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from various regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance of the Environment of Care (EOC) program, including fire, hazardous materials safety and security/waste/utilities/emergency management (EM). Maintains documentation of findings and improvements.
• Identifies risks based on regulatory interpretation and other methods, and applies to policy creation.
• Monitors potential and actual environmental hazards. Participates in root and apparent cause analysis and recommends remedial and corrective action.
• Leads emergency coordination (EC) rounding activities, EC/EM related education, and EOC/EM Committee(s).

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s): Certified Certification specializing in Health Safety credentialed from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM).
• Certification credentialed from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (BCHCM). Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
