Job summary

Walden Security is seeking experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security for courthouses under the USMS contract. CSOs will enforce the District’s entry controls, conduct screening, and respond to incidents while maintaining safety for staff and the public.

Responsibilities include roving and stationary post duties, escorting judges and court personnel, traffic control, and reporting on security incidents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable law enforcement or military security experience within last 7 years.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record for the past 5 years.
• Completion of certified Federal/state/local or military law enforcement training academy with certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; apply rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enforce entry control and screening to detect weapons and prohibited items.
• Roving patrol of court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Monitor CCTV, duress systems, and other security equipment at posts.
• Provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel when needed.
• Direct traffic and manage parking at court facility properties.
• Enforce federal law and detain unauthorized individuals as required.
• Prepare reports on incidents, labor hours, accidents, threats, or unlawful acts.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices before proceedings.
• Maintain courtroom order and enforce court rules during proceedings.
