Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a designated store area and oversee daily operations as Manager on Duty. You will open and close the store, supervise Associates, and ensure a friendly, easy-to-shop environment with proper merchandise presentation.

You will enforce safety, loss prevention, and front‑end standards, coach staff on cash handling, and help manage merchandising, stock, and daily administrative duties under the Store Manager’s direction.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as Manager on Duty.
• Supervise Associates and maintain a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and stockroom organization.
• Maintain stockroom cleanliness and organization; assist with backroom duties.
• Enforce front‑end standards and coach staff on cash handling and loss prevention.
• Manage payroll administration including daily punch edits and scheduling.
