Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and supervise operations when on duty.

You will open/close the store, supervise associates, ensure a safe, clean, and shopper-friendly environment, and enforce company processes across merchandising and front-end activities. The role requires strong communication, supervisory experience, and familiarity with POS systems, with availability for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and secure store environment and report hazards.
• Ensure customer safety and respond to emergencies and alarms.
• Oversee Front End operations; train cashiers and manage line to expedite customers.
• Perform administrative duties: payroll edits, scheduling and compliance.
• Supervise Retail Associates and Stockroom leads; manage daily tasks.
• Ensure merchandising, back stock, and floor moves meet company standards.
