GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty, supervising associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They oversee merchandise presentation, store cleanliness, and execute company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
  • Prioritizes safety and practices safe behaviors.
  • Maintains awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment.
  • Responsible for building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, cash office security, and alarm systems.
  • Removes clutter and ensures clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Ensures customer safety, reports accidents, and responds to emergencies.
Customer Service:
  • Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognizes associates for their contributions.
Personal and Store Brand:
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and enforces dress code.
  • Keeps store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
General Merchandising:
  • Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards.
  • Receives merchandise and processes deliveries promptly.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of stockrooms.
  • Assists with merchandise placement and back-stock management.
  • Reduces loss due to damage and ensures compliance with presentation guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
  • Follows loss prevention protocols, maintains a customer service presence, and engages with customers and associates to prevent theft.
  • Safeguards confidential information and merchandise.
  • Maintains PVM systems and conducts package inspections.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
  • Maximizes productivity and ensures standards are met at the front end.
  • Trains and coaches associates on register procedures and policies.
  • Controls break schedules and maintains equipment.
Fitting Rooms:
  • Ensures cleanliness and proper tagging of garments.
  • Maintains compliance with return and tagging policies.
Administrative Duties:
  • Handles cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
  • Follows policies for refunds, tills, and cash security.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with POS equipment and applications
  • Basic math skills
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift more than 25 lbs. or 20 lbs. for stockroom shifts. Use of janitorial and store equipment required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
