GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store, as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They are responsible for opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times. They also execute and supervise company operational processes as needed.

Essential Functions

Maintaining Safe ; Secure Environments:

• Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone; report any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Be responsible for security of the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups, and register area.
• Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
• Be responsible for customer safety, including accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
