Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to join the Store Leadership team. This role covers a defined area of the store and includes responsibility for opening/closing, overseeing Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment.

The Area Supervisor ensures proper merchandising, cleanliness, safety, and adherence to company processes while supporting store operations during Manager on Duty shifts.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise associates when acting as Manager on Duty.
• Maintain safe and secure shopping environments and report unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Oversee loss prevention and ensure compliance with company practices.
• Train and coach associates on front-end operations and checkout procedures.
• Manage back stock, stockrooms, and merchandising recovery.
