Job Description
Our Area Sales Manager is the face of the company to our primary customer – our dealers. The focus of this role is to increase the number of funded deals by partnering with dealers who will be a good fit. The role supports growth by identifying, onboarding, and managing dealers within your local region through consultative sales and management. This full‑time position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and requires a US‑based candidate comfortable working remotely and on the road.
What you’ll do
- Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within independent and franchise dealerships, live in person.
- Identify sales prospects and contact assigned accounts.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals from telephone calls for independent and franchise dealers.
- Develop, maintain and grow current and potential dealer partners within the independent and franchise dealer communities.
- Consistently and effectively communicate with dealer partners on current programs via phone calls or in person.
- Train dealers in Western Funding procedures, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of automotive, finance, and sales.
- Prior experience in the financial services sector or within a car dealership.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success.
- Clear and effective presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques.Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology.
- Results orientation: getting things done in alignment with company objectives.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time to visit auto dealers.
Compensation Plan
- First‑year salary range: $54,000–$125,000 per year (base salary + performance commissions).
- Average rep earning after 1 year: $79,000.
- Average earning of top 10 reps: $125,000.
- Commission potential: No cap.
- Monthly mileage reimbursement: average $450 per month.
- Exact starting compensation will be determined at hiring and depends on factors such as location, skill set, experience, education, credentials and licensure.
