Area Sales Manager – Chicago, IL | Remote
Our Area Sales Manager is the face of the company to our number one customer – our dealers. The focus of this role is to increase the number of funded deals by partnering with dealers who fit our program. The manager identifies, onboards, and manages growth with dealers in their local region, using a consultative sales and management approach.
What’s the role?
The role is full‑time, reporting to a Regional Sales Manager. Candidates are based in the US and must be comfortable working remotely and on the road.
Responsibilities
- Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within independent and franchise dealerships live‑in person;
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned to you;
- Follow up on new leads and referrals arising from telephone calls for independent and franchise dealers;
- Develop, maintain, and grow current and potential dealer partners within the independent and franchise dealer communities;
- Maintain constant and effective communication, via phone or in person, with dealer partners on current programs;
- Train dealers in Western Funding procedures, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- High school diploma or equivalent (required);
- College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred);
- Strong knowledge of automotive, finance and sales;
- Previous experience in the financial services sector or within a car dealership;
- 1–2 years of a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success;
- Clear and effective presentation skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques;
- Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology;
- Results orientation: getting things done in alignment with company objectives;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish) a plus;
- Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time, due to visiting auto dealers;
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Compensation Plan
- Guaranteed compensation of $5,000 per month during the first 12 months of employment;
- Base salary of $1,500 per month and guaranteed commissions of $3,500 per month for the first 12 months;
- Commission potential: no cap (unlimited earning potential);
- Average first-year total compensation range: $60,000–$125,000 annually;
- Average annual earnings after the first year: approximately $79,000;
- Average annual earnings for the top 10 representatives: approximately $125,000;
- Monthly mileage reimbursement: average of $450 per month.
