Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and elevate performance across a defined span of care in our Michigan operations. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, coach for results, and ensure execution of training, development, and recognition initiatives to grow both people and performance.

The role focuses on maximizing sales, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction while managing budgeted expenses and implementing process improvements aligned with Meijer's culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make decisions.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to onboard, train, and provide coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Hold candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversee area operations and financial results including budgeted P&L items.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Direct team leads on daily assignments and training needs.
