Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to oversee team engagement and store operations across multiple departments, driving onboarding, coaching, and performance management to ensure customer excellence.

This role requires 4+ years in retail/grocery, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership to manage budgeting, scheduling, safety, and staff development while upholding Meijer’s culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback to be successful.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing strategy for leadership roles.
• Involvement in candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results by executing plans and managing budgeting.
• Drives safety and compliance and maintains store condition and procedures.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads with daily work assignments and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned and identified.
