Job summary

NANA Management Services in Kotzebue, AK is seeking a Security Officer to protect Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas, with a 1 week on / 1 week off rotation and occasional on‑call duties.

New hires will complete a 10‑day training in Kotzebue; lodging and transportation to training are provided.

The role requires standing 8–12 hours, teamwork, English proficiency, and strict safety compliance; on-site presence and alertness for emergencies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Pass Alaska background check; pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly; roving inside facilities or in a vehicle.
• De-escalates situations to ensure safety of employees, customers, and clients.
• Examines doors, windows, and other areas to ensure they are secure.
• Reports and records data such as property damage or unusual occurrences.
• Assists in setting up for events, moving furniture and displays, and clinic preparations.
• Responds to emergencies to preserve life and property and may assist with safety protocols.
