Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks an Assistant Cultural Resources Technician 1 to support projects across the mid-Atlantic and Midwestern regions. The role involves identifying, excavating, and recording potential sites per state standards, with work spanning Phase I through Phase III investigations.

The position requires field experience, ability to hike and endure outdoor conditions, and willingness to travel up to 100% on weekdays; a relevant degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of field archaeology experience preferred.
• A.A. or B.A./B.S. in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related field; field school or equivalent skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, excavate, and record potential archaeological sites following standards.
• Photograph and map survey areas and testing locations.
• Complete field forms and document soils.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions; travel up to 100% on weekdays.
