Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks an Assistant Cultural Resources Technician 1 to support projects across the Southwestern region. The role involves identifying, excavating, and recording sites to federal/state standards across Phase I–III investigations. Pre-employment drug testing is required.

The work is field-based, demanding physical effort, and requires flexibility for travel and varying hours while maintaining safety and accuracy in documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years field-related archaeology experience or equivalent ability.
• Enrolled in field school or equivalent education in anthropology/archaeology.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Excavate, screen, and collect archaeological materials per standards.
• Identify and record features within project areas.
• Photograph, map survey locations, and document field observations.
• Complete field forms and maintain daily notes with accuracy.
