AR Specialist: Student Billing & GL Reconciliations

Job summary

Casper College invites applications for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will provide timely billing to students and organizations and handle daily accounting transactions in line with budget guidelines.

You will support month-end and year-end closings, reconcile general ledger accounts, and coordinate with the campus food service contractor on meal plan information, while maintaining confidential student financial data.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in accounting, business or related field or a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles, purchasing and financial recordkeeping.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; ability to use ERP and Datatel Colleague.
• Familiarity with laws, regulations and policies related to purchasing and financial reporting.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable checks and student refunds.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of Casper College Foundation and UWCC billings.
• Monitor general student accounts receivable.
• Process monthly billings for receivables and reconcile invoices to GL.
• Prepare sponsor/third party billings (ACE, DVR, external companies).
• Conduct collection activities and coordinate with contracted agencies.
• Answer calls regarding student statements and provide solutions.
• Maintain files and databases; provide backup as needed.
• Assist with monitoring accounts with special arrangements.
• Train and provide work direction to others.
