Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist (Financials Specialist III) to manage collections, billing, and account maintenance. The role collaborates with the Manager of Accounts Receivable and the Bursar to communicate payment deadlines and resolve outstanding balances.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least four years of experience; six years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and four (4) years of experience or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years of experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts receivable, billing/invoicing, & collections processes; understanding of cash handling, banking and audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date billing systems; track, review, and collect all accounts.
• Ensure payment deadlines are tracked and recorded; send notifications to outstanding accounts.
• Organize a recovery system and initiate collection efforts.
• Post balances to accounts, monitor non-payments, and liaise with departments and external agencies.
• Provide customer service via telephone, email, and in-person; assist with year-end reports.
