Job summary

CarMax seeks a Manager of AR Operations – Funding in Richmond, VA to lead funding-related accounts receivable activities and manage a dedicated team. You will drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the order-to-cash cycle while championing process improvements and operational excellence.

The role requires 5+ years of business experience with GAAP knowledge and 2+ years of leadership, plus strong communication and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of business experience with strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing direct or indirect reports.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Internal candidates: Successful completion of Entry MAP or MDP may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee order-to-cash activities, ensuring accounting accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of funding transactions.
• Manage team performance, including onboarding, training, setting expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
• Provide ongoing education to ensure adherence to operational and accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Analyze department metrics, such as productivity and KPIs, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on projects, driving innovative solutions.
