Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Diesel Technician to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refuse trucks. You will work on hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO, and other components to keep fleet operations safe and reliable.
Two shifts are available: 4am–2pm and 8:30am–6pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime after 40 hours. Starting pay is $25–$30 per hour, with health benefits after 60 days, a quarterly tool allowance, boot reimbursement, and a 401K after
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
- Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
Job description
Starting Pay: $25-$30/hr More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.
2 options. Expect 9hr+ working shifts. Overtime over 40hrs.
1) 4am-2pm M-F.
2) 830am-6pm M-F.
