Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc. seeks a Manager, Applications Development to oversee IT staff delivering new applications and updates to production systems. The role partners with business stakeholders to ensure suitable technologies are developed and implemented.

The Manager leads a team of 5–10 across NY State offices, coaching and evaluating performance while driving governance, security, and lifecycle practices to ensure uptime and service levels across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of related work experience, with preference for staff management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant field; in lieu, 6 years of related work experience.
• Ability to handle competing priorities & initiatives and high customer expectations.
• Analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in project planning and project management.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall SDLCs.

Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for IT-related aspects of a defined portfolio of applications.
• Governance and oversight of the Enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (eSDLC).
• Act as IT Product Owner; drive platform currency and remediation.
• Review backlog items with stakeholders and clarify intent.
• Improve process efficiency and work product output with stakeholders.
• Oversee production support: change management, incident management, on-call scheduling.
