Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking an Application Analyst to join the Information Systems & Digital Learning team in Springfield, MA. You will integrate data across district systems, support PowerSchool, and enable real-time access to governance-friendly information for critical decisions.

The role requires IT savvy, experience with databases, ETL, APIs, and SDLC knowledge, plus strong communication and the ability to work independently and with stakeholders district-wide.

Qualifications

• BA in Business Administration, IT, or related discipline preferred.
• Familiarity with database management systems.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management concepts.
• Ability to read and understand software manuals and technical documentation.
• Strong problem analysis and initiative to generate reliable solutions.
• Familiarity with SDLC and project management methodologies.
• Ability to contact technical support and resolve requests.
• Familiarity with PowerSchool or other ERP software is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively.
• Adept at effectively managing multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
• Ability to facilitate meetings using communication and presentation software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Familiarity with application security and authentication.
• Familiarity with flow-charts and process diagrams.
• Familiarity with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Support PowerSchool and the Student Information System end-to-end.
• Provide end-user training and create knowledge base articles.
• Develop and maintain administrative documentation and procedures.
• Coordinate data integration and ETL/API data exchange.
• Perform data governance and data auditing activities.
• Schedule SIS software update releases.
• Conduct end-user testing and validation of software features.
• Assist in project documentation and planning.
• Collaborate with IT and Digital Learning teams to ensure data quality.
