Job summary

Groundswell is a premier technology integrator supporting federal agencies. We seek an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to drive automation testing and QA strategy for web applications, including Playwright/Selenium.

You will lead testing efforts, shape test plans, and mentor a distributed team. The role requires a Bachelor's in IT or related field, 5+ years of software testing, and 2+ years of automation; remote/hybrid collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing experience collaborating with developers, PMs, sysadmins, BAs, and DBAs.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior members.
• Experience interpreting requirements and writing test documentation (Test Reports, Acceptance Criteria).
• Knowledge of test management, automation toolsets and processes.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing processes and cadence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the QA program design and strategy.
• Lead test environment design, data planning, and test data management.
• Mentor and manage testing staff, including hiring and performance evaluations.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review test documentation and ensure quality control.
• Create test plans and procedures aligned with specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with testing groups on test-related issues and upgrades.
• Communicate planned downtimes, system changes, and common issues promptly.
