Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to support web-based applications with automation testing expertise. You will design QA programs, lead test strategy, and mentor a testing team working in remote and/or hybrid setups.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software testing, 2+ years in automation, and strong leadership skills. Knowledge of Playwright and Selenium is required, with a U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related discipline.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior members.
• Experience interpreting requirements and writing test docs.
• Knowledge of Test Management and automation toolsets.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing process and cadence.
• Proficiency with Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Able to work in remote and/or hybrid teams.
• U.S. citizen and able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Play a strategic role in the overall design and implementation of the QA program.
• Lead the development of test strategy, environment design, and test data.
• Provide leadership in hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluations of testers.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review and provide recommendations regarding test documentation.
• Develop test plans and procedures based on requirements documents.
• Develop data collection plans and train operators and data collectors.
• Review data collection forms and logs collected during test.
• Review Test Incident Reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Support analysis of user requirements and assist in test plan design.
• Work with testing groups on test-related issues and topics.
• Provide timely communication regarding upgrades, downtimes, and system changes.
• Report bugs accurately and escalate issues as needed.
• Perform technical reviews and ensure adherence to quality processes.
