Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to strengthen our QA program and automation testing. You will guide test strategy, data design, and environment setup while mentoring testers and coordinating with developers and managers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software testing experience, 2+ years in automation, and proficiency with Playwright and Selenium. This role supports remote/hybrid teams with potential for federal project collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related discipline.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with cross-functional teams.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior members.
• Experience interpreting requirements and writing quality control docs.
• Knowledge of test management, automation toolsets and processes.
• Knowledge of performance testing and related cadences.
• Proficiency with Playwright and Selenium.
• Ability to work independently and with remote/hybrid teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead overall test strategy and QA program.
• Design test environments and test data, plan test execution.
• Lead hiring, training, and performance evaluations for testers.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review test documentation and provide improvements.
• Develop test plans and procedures from requirements documents.
• Coordinate data collection and operator training as needed.
• Review incident reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Support analysis of user requirements and test plan design.
• Collaborate with testing groups on issues and topics.
• Communicate upgrades, downtime, changes, or issues timely.
• Escalate bugs appropriately and perform technical reviews.
