Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Test Engineering Lead to support web-based applications with automation testing expertise. You will shape the QA program, lead the overall test strategy, environment design, and data while mentoring the testing team. The role requires 5+ years in software testing, 2+ years in automation, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of Playwright and Selenium.

U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of software testing experience with developers, project managers, and system admins.
• 2+ years of automation testing experience.
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior team members.
• Experience interpreting requirements, writing quality control documentation, and UAT planning.
• Knowledge of Test Management, Automation toolsets and processes.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing process and cadence.
• Proficiency with test automation and test management tools like Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in remote/hybrid teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Play a strategic role in the overall design and implementation of the QA program.
• Lead the development of test strategy, environment design, and test data.
• Provide leadership in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of testing staff.
• Plan, execute, and report on software development and maintenance testing.
• Review and provide recommendations for test documentation.
• Develop test plans and procedures based on requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with test groups on issues and topics.
• Communicate upgrades, downtimes, and system changes clearly.
• Report bugs accurately and escalate issues as needed.
• Perform technical reviews and ensure adherence to quality processes.
