Job summary

Middleburg Communities is seeking a Service Technician in Huntsville, AL to assist in maintenance, grounds services, and apartment make-readies. The role reports to the Service Manager and Property Manager and requires performing preventive maintenance, safety-conscious workmanship, and responsive service to uphold our standards and mission.

You will support inventory management, vendor coordination, and on-call coverage, including weekend and after-hours emergency requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance including plumbing, painting, drywall, appliance repair, electrical, locks, carpentry, roofs, life safety equipment.
• Regulatory/environmental certifications such as lead/asbestos/renovations are preferred.
• At least 2 years experience in apartment maintenance; or 3+ years in related field.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills (Windows; mobile device usage).

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preventative maintenance, inspections, vacant turns, repairs per schedule.
• Oversee apartment turns including moves and renovations to meet market-ready standards.
• Track inventory, document service requests, and schedule turnovers.
• Assist with inventory and ordering supplies; pick up as needed.
• Daily property walk to identify curb appeal, safety, and maintenance issues; recommend improvements.
• Complete tasks per safety policies; participate in safety meetings.
