A construction company in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced AP Specialist for an opportunity supporting construction accounting operations. This role is ideal for an accounts payable professional with recent construction industry experience who enjoys accurate invoice processing, vendor communication, job costing, and organized financial support.

The AP Specialist will work closely with a collaborative accounting team, supportive leadership, and internal project partners who rely on timely and accurate accounts payable support. Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, including matching invoices to purchase orders, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and construction job cost codes.
• Prepare vendor payments, support scheduled check runs, and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and balances.
• Support monthly accounts payable reconciliations, close procedures, reporting, and organized accounting recordkeeping.
• Provide backup accounts receivable support, including check posting and payment applications, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Schedule: Full-Time.
• Location: San Diego, CA.
• For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience providing backup accounts receivable support, including check posting and payment applications.
• Prior experience supporting monthly close activities in a construction accounting environment.
