Job summary

United Staffing Associates is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist for a manufacturing client in the food industry. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records to support daily clerical and transactional accounting operations.

You will work closely with the finance team to review invoices, reconcile statements, and handle vendor/customer inquiries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience involving both accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Strong technical skills with common office and accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus.

United Staffing Associates is recruiting an experienced AP/AR Specialist for a manufacturing client in the food industry. Working closely with the finance team, this position is responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records to support day-to-day clerical and transactional accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry and payment posting.
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and banking information.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries.
• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices.
• Record and apply customer payments in the accounting system.
• Monitor customer accounts and identify overdue balances.
• Follow up with customers by phone or email regarding outstanding payments.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer billing inquiries.
• Reconcile accounting records across systems to ensure accuracy and consistency each month.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience involving both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency with common office and accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime based on business needs.

Compensation

$28.00-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience.
