Anchorage Security Captain — Lead & Incident Command

Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation invites applications for a Security Captain to lead security services across multiple client sites, including remote environments. You will supervise security personnel, enforce policies, manage incidents, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure safe and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of post-secondary education preferred; without it, two extra years of security/military experience required.
• Minimum ten years in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• At least five years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record for past three years.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License prior to employment.
• Must obtain State of Alaska Armed Guard License on hire.
• Ability to train others quarterly in position-specific security topics.
• Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
• Qualified for credentials like TWIC and ATF Explosives Possessor when required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract-specific software.
• Must complete pre-employment requirements (drug screening, medical, fit-for-duty, etc.).
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, clients, and customers.
• Ability to make sound judgments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to read/write/speak English; comply with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assign security personnel to posts and patrols with proper staffing.
• Supervise daily operations and ensure client, policy, and procedure compliance.
• Enforce security policies, post orders, and SOPs.
• Develop staffing requirements and document processes and workforce needs.
• Translate requirements into functional processes with supporting docs.
• Prepare schedules and review leave requests.
• Maintain client communications to improve service delivery.
• Review incident and irregularity reports and take action.
• Complete administrative records and documentation.
• Oversee investigations as assigned.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and other stakeholders.
• Develop/update post orders and security documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond after-hours incidents.
• Serve in Incident Command when appropriate.
• Provide transportation and emergency medical response within training scope.
• Support additional operational duties as assigned.
• Report unsafe conditions or sanitation concerns promptly.
• Directly supervise security personnel including coaching and performance management.
