Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member positions support students across elementary to high school levels. This entry-level, paid, full-time role focuses on coaching and mentoring students to achieve academic success and stronger attendance, within a supportive school setting.

New members receive 2–4 weeks of initial training and ongoing collaboration with teachers and staff to drive student progress and engagement throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to improve academic performance and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and assist with classroom instruction and activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to collect, record, and review student data and progress.
