Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Ambulatory Services Representative II at the Lake Houston Campus. The role handles check-in/check-out, registration, cashiering, and updates to Epic, with emphasis on accurate information and patient service.

The candidate will assist with scheduling, PBX operations, and cash control, while ensuring a courteous, professional demeanor and organized work area to support clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of direct face to face customer service experience.
• 1+ years of cash handling or collections experience.
• 6+ months in a customer-facing role in a medical/healthcare setting or related field, or cross-training experience with Epic Front Desk training.
• Experience with Windows-based software including Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic Math ability.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: collaborate with patients to achieve high satisfaction and respect within the healthcare team.
• Front Desk Operations: assist patients for quick processing, collect required information, update demographics and insurance in Epic, and schedule appointments.
• PBX Operations: answer and direct calls, refer to appropriate departments, log and relay wait times.
• Cash Control: perform daily cash drawer opening/closing and balancing.
• Process registrations for new patients with insurance, demographics, and scans in Epic.
• Maintain professional appearance and tidy work area; support site management as needed.
