We’re searching for an Ambulatory Services Representative II for our Outpatient Psychology clinic, someone eager to join the top-ranked children’s hospital in Texas and among the best nationally. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and non-virtual ambulatory clinics. You may also orient patients to the virtual visit process to ensure their success.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Required 2 years' experience in customer service, clerical, medical office, or business environment, preferably in healthcare

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Orient patients to the virtual visit process and ensure all technology is set up for successful visits
  • Provide and ensure completion of necessary patient forms for clinic visits
  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes
  • Notify clinic staff and providers of any changes or discrepancies in scheduled appointments
  • Refer patients with inadequate funding to the financial counselor, with zero reported complaints
  • Update appointment statuses daily to reflect arrival, cancellation, no-show, or rescheduling
  • Maintain organized referral files, communicate missed appointments to PCP, and delete referrals after one month
  • Review new referrals with the provider and coordinate scheduling based on provider availability
  • Assist licensed staff with non-financial aspects of inpatient admissions, such as escort calls and paperwork
  • Perform closing procedures like reconciling fee receipts, deposits, petty cash, and credit card balances
  • Handle charge entry, billing, reconciliation, and customer service tasks
  • Manage flow and room assignments effectively
