We are seeking a Medical Assistant II for our Outpatient Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) clinic at The Medical Center. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, providing patient care and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include assisting in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to manage patient care effectively.

Note: All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to a safe workplace.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate from the National Healthcareer Association
  • CMA-AAM - Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • EMT certifications (EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P) from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • LIC PAR - License Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • NCMA - National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing
  • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals
  • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant from recognized certifying bodies

Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding appointment status, wait times, or issues.
  • Use the patient management system to document patient arrivals and open accounts.
  • Update patient statuses daily to reflect cancellations, no-shows, or rescheduling.
  • Prioritize patients for rooming based on appointment and arrival times.
  • Assist licensed staff with inpatient admission processes as needed.
  • Escort patients and assist with paperwork.
  • Collect and document patient and family data, including biophysical and psychosocial information, within the scope of clinic practice.
  • Report abnormal or out-of-range data to RN or provider.
  • Ensure requisitions contain complete clinical, demographic, billing, and payor information.
  • Monitor patient flow and adjust staffing as necessary to minimize wait times.
