We are seeking an Ambulatory Services Representative II for our Outpatient Orthopedics/Sports Medicine clinic at the West Campus, part of Texas Children’s Hospital, ranked as the best children’s hospital in Texas and among the top in the nation. The role involves providing excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics. The candidate may also orient patients to the virtual visit process to ensure their success.

All successful applicants will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing to comply with workplace safety standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, clerical work, medical office, or business, preferably in healthcare

Job Responsibilities:

• Orient patients to the virtual visit process and set up necessary technology
• Provide and collect all required patient forms for clinic visits
• Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding appointments and clinic processes
• Notify staff of any changes or issues with scheduled appointments
• Refer patients with funding issues to financial counselors, with no complaints reported
• Update appointment statuses daily (arrived, canceled, no-show, rescheduled)
• Maintain organized referral files, communicate missed appointments, and manage referral destruction as per policy
• Review new referrals and provider schedules to coordinate appointments
• Assist licensed staff with inpatient admission processes as needed
• Perform closing procedures such as reconciling fees, deposits, petty cash, and credit card transactions
• Handle charge entry, billing, and reconciliation tasks
• Provide excellent customer service and communication
• Manage flow and room assignments
