Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Practice Supervisor to oversee day-to-day ambulatory front-end operations, ensuring Patients First! standards and staffing models are followed.

The role supervises reception, checkout and clerical functions, coordinates scheduling, and supports patient concerns and data accuracy. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with healthcare customer-service and supervisory background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
• Previous experience in a customer service role, supervisory role, and healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and assists staff with daily activities including scheduling, call volumes, and surge demands, upholding service standards.
• Reviews staff appointment scheduling for accuracy and completeness to maintain right appointment at the right time with the right physician; communicates with Administrator/Medical Team for scheduling decisions.
• Assists in preparing daily, monthly and year-end reporting.
• Creates training materials and scheduling guidelines; provides ongoing training of staff with scheduling appointments.
• Maintains high-quality customer service and data integrity in patient calls, monitoring performance with reports.
• Provides guidance for escalated MyChart calls.
• Ensures appropriate reimbursement for services; organizes orientation and in-service training on insurance verification and co-pay collection procedures.
