Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Supervisor of Patient Access Services for part-time weekend days. The role oversees frontline Patient Access staff across assigned service areas, ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while maintaining high patient experience standards.

The supervisor reports to the Manager of Patient Access Services and helps uphold regulatory compliance, staff performance standards, and efficient operations in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access or hospital registration is required.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Leadership or team lead experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain working knowledge of registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance workflows.
• Support compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
