Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced administrative professional to support a Neurology Clinic in Worcester, MA. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and coordinate scheduling for multiple providers and tests.

The role involves preparing patients’ information for clinicians, handling referrals and pre-authorizations, and maintaining accurate records in a busy ambulatory setting. A signing bonus may be available during interviews.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and/or patients for scheduled and/or urgent care appointments and procedures.
• Confirms and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• May collect co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtains signatures of consent from patient/guardian for treatment authorization and insurance/billing information.
• Schedules urgent care appointments as needed and directed by clinicians.
• Schedules patients for treatment by multiple providers and treatment areas, and arranges tests and procedures.
• Prioritizes appointments to foster patient care and efficient use of staff and resources.
• Collects co-payments and reconciles daily totals for submission.
