Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced leader for the Alternative Delivery Director-Transportation Business Group to drive major transportation projects and complex programs.

You will manage pursuit and delivery, negotiate contract terms, and collaborate with HDR’s policy, risk, and legal teams to advance design-build and P3 initiatives across multiple regions. The role emphasizes client relationships, industry leadership, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field required.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field for leadership roles.
• Experience leading large transportation infrastructure projects and teams.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of time.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director and ensure effective pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in compliance with HDR Policy and Procedure and related governance.
• Collaborate with HDR Business Group Alternative Delivery Directors on policy, resources, and contract terms.
• Negotiate contract terms with HDR Legal and coordinate with Risk Committee input.
• Coordinate with Transportation Leadership to discuss client discussions and contractor relationships.
• Lead HDR matrix collaboration across Areas, Regions, and Market Sectors.
• Advise HDR leadership on commercial and technical trends in Alternative Delivery.
• Foster relationships to elevate HDR visibility in AD markets.
• Provide oversight to Regional Leads and Resource Manager for AD projects.
• Negotiate teaming agreements and subcontracts with engineering and construction entities.
