Job summary

Alaska Power & Telephone is seeking a motivated Business Account Manager to build and maintain relationships with enterprise and wholesale customers while identifying new opportunities to grow the business customer base. The role combines inside/outside sales, strong communication, and strategic account management with occasional travel across Alaska.

You will drive retention, expand existing accounts, and pursue new clients through upselling and cross-selling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2–4+ years of experience in business sales, account management, or related roles with a track record in growing B2B accounts.
• Experience in telecommunications or technology industries is a plus; knowledge of broadband and related services is beneficial.
• Strong sales, negotiation, upselling, cross-selling, and relationship-building skills with the ability to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain relationships with current enterprise and wholesale accounts.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through upselling and cross-selling.
• Expand the customer base by engaging and building relationships with new business clients.
• Conduct sales outreach and deliver presentations via phone, video, and in-person meetings.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to address customer needs and ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain detailed CRM records of client communications and sales opportunities.
