Job summary

NANA Management Services, LLC seeks a Security Officer to provide security for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Alaska. The role follows a 1 week on/1 week off rotation, with on-call work as needed.

Training is a 10-day program in Kotzebue, AK, with lodging and transportation provided for new hires. The position emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and compliance, with duties ranging from monitoring premises to coordinating emergency responses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to pass State of Alaska background check and obtain Alaska Guard License.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Ability to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas and grounds using visual, electronic, or audible methods.
• Ensure safety and compliance in all actions.
• Verbally de-escalate situations to protect staff and customers.
• Inspect doors, windows, and store areas for security.
• Report property damage and unusual occurrences per policy.
• Assist in event setup and clinic prep.
• Warn violators and may Apprehend or expel violators.
• Notify on-site individuals of visiting contacts.
• Respond to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
• May operate safety and life-support monitoring programs.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• Check heating, lighting, sprinklers, security, and fire systems.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not met.
• Must be able to work on-call and outside normal hours as scheduled.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Other duties pertinent to department or unit’s success.
