HMSHost is hiring a Cook at our Dallas-area airport location. The role requires preparing cooked foods and executing all station functions (Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, eggs) while communicating with the manager and servers to ensure timely service.

The position emphasizes high-quality customer experience and food safety. Ideal candidates have 1+ year cooking experience in high-volume settings, knowledge of HACCP, and ability to handle physical tasks (lifting up to 40 pounds) and hot

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Requires a minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience, high-volume casual dining experience preferred.
• Requires food knowledge pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry.
• Requires ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents, and communicate with customers.
• Requires ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Requires ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions.
• Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions.
• Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates.
• Frequently works in hot environment.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving items.
• Tastes products, estimates food requirements, checks production and requisitions supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment.
• Maintains HACCP standards and food safety practices.
• Operates kitchen equipment and measures and mixes ingredients.
• Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of products.
