Job summary

HMSHost in Austin, TX is hiring a Cook G to prepare cooked foods and perform all station functions (Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and eggs). You will communicate ticket times to the manager on duty and servers, and deliver the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times.

This non-exempt position requires at least 1 year of related cooking experience, strong food safety knowledge (HACCP), and the ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume casual dining environment.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Minimum 1 year cooking experience in high-volume casual dining.
• Food knowledge for soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares, seasons, cooks, and serves food items as directed.
• Tastes products, estimates requirements and checks production and supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment.
• Operates kitchen equipment and handles knives safely; maintains hot environment awareness.
